In development at NVIDIA for five years, GeForce NOW is compatible with most Windows- and Mac-based desktop PCs and laptops. Gamers simply download the GeForce NOW app to their local machine. With a few clicks, they can connect to their own GeForce GTX virtual PC, install their favorite games from popular digital game stores -- like Steam, Battle.net, Origin, Uplay and GOG -- and start playing. Free-to-play games like World of Tanks can also be installed directly from their respective websites.
Freeware programs can be downloaded used free of charge and without any time limitations. Freeware products can be used free of charge for both personal and professional (commercial use).

GeForce Now is a gaming service that uses cloud technology to allow its customers to play games from its library on remote gaming rigs, without needing to install those games on their devices. When using GeForce Now, your Mac would connect with a remote gaming PC that has the game you want to be installed on it, and that game will appear on your screen. You will be able to play the game as if it were installed on your Mac, without actually needing to download it. There are several major advantages to this method of playing games:
GeForce NOW requires a fast internet connection to use, demanding a 25Mb/s download speed at a minimum and a 5GHz wireless router. Nvidia recommends a 50Mb/s connection or higher to account for other potential internet traffic.
AppleInsider said:We jumped on the GeForce Now release and quickly downloaded it to our 2016 MacBook Pro. This machine, now several years old, is not the fastest or more capable Mac around.I wonder what people are talking about when reading things like that reading on my 2008 MBP.To get in on the fun you need an iMac from 2009 or newer, a MacBook, MacBook Air, or MacBook Pro from 2008 or newer, or a Mac Pro from 2013 or newer and it must be running macOS 10.10 or better. While not specifically listed, we had a good experience with a 2012 Mac mini as well.Especially when reading this then.
Downloading the app will note give you access to the service, you must have a previously activated GeForce Now account from your PC, mac or Shield. The ongoing row between Epic Games and Apple continues, with Apple's blocking of Fortnite updates and downloads from its App Store meaning the newly-released Chapter 2 - Season 4 cannot be played on iPad, iPhone, iPod touch or Mac.
Once installed and signed up, you can download Fortnite to Nvidia's remote server through the GeForce Now client and play the game over the cloud. Connect a PlayStation DualShock 4, Xbox One, or another wireless or wired controller and away you go.
GFN gets high marks for performance, and when it's working right, it's addictive. I can play at my desk at work, on my Mac (only on Wi-Fi because game ports are typically blocked on our work network) or on any random laptop I'm reviewing. No two-hour downloads to install games on a system at home. There's really very little friction.
With a few exceptions, you can't get anything from outside the game into the game and vice versa. For one thing, that means no downloadable mods. If you can get to them from a game menu or from within Steam, then you're good. You can use the Steam overlay, but any captures are only sent to Steam; they're not saved to your hard disk as usual. The Windows Game Bar does save to your local hard drive, but only on Windows.
If you subscribe to Xbox Game Pass Ultimate, you also get access to Xbox Cloud Gaming functionality, which can be used from a browser(Opens in a new window) on your Mac. Select a title and click the Play button to immediately start playing the game; no downloading required. Just make sure you have a Bluetooth controller, a supported browser, and adequate network support.

NVIDIA's drivers might come with some baggage, but GeForce NOW isn't among them. So, even if you are using one of NVIDIA's GPUs, you still have to download the GeForce NOW client separately to use the service.
After creating an account, you will be able to download and install the program immediately. Do note that it cannot automatically scan for compatible games that you own. You will have to search for these games and add them manually. Another thing is that you will need to login to both GeForce Now and the storefront that you have the game on. It's a minor inconvenience but a necessary step to ensure that everything works as it should.
You can also download the app to your Android mobile phone or tablet from the Google Play Store. Make sure that your Android is running on 5.0 or later and has at least 2GB of free storage space. Finally, you can download GeForce to your Shield TV streaming device, so you can play games on your TV.
You also need a good WiFi signal, but if you can stream an HD movie on Netflix, your WiFi signal is probably good enough to play a game on GeForce NOW. With that said, Nvidia recommends download speeds of 25-50 Mbps to truly enjoy everything that their cloud gaming platform has to offer.
MapleStory is now playable on GeForce NOW! NVIDIA's premiere game streaming service allows games with a GeForce NOW account on a wide variety of systems, including Windows, Macintosh, Linux, web browsers and more, to play a wide selection of games without the need to download a game client, or even have a high-end gaming PC.
